Two Months Pre-WeddingTwo months or less to go until your wedding day! It’s time to focus on details, details and more details such as finalizing the headcount and logistics with the vendors. Following is a guideline of things to do leading up to your wedding:
Two Months Pre-Wedding- Make final checks on everything: catering, honeymoon, photographer, videographer, florist, musicians, officiant, rehearsal, etc.
- Make sure announcements are addressed and arrange for someone to mail them on your wedding day.
- Think about what you are going to take on the honeymoon, decide when you will pack.
- Buy traveler’s checks for honeymoon.
- Finalize the seating plan and write place cards.
- Get final guest counts to caterers, wedding cake company, party rental company and/or reception site coordinator.
- Write toasts for the rehearsal dinner and reception.
- Try on your wedding shoes and wear them on carpeted surfaces around the house.
- Arrange for someone to house sit, pet sit or babysit while you are on your honeymoon.
- Pick up your wedding dress.
- Attend your bachelor/bachelorette parties, if you're having them, and wedding showers.
- Send thank you notes to the hosts of your pre-wedding parties.
- Write thank you notes for gifts received at wedding showers.
- Send your travel plans and contact information to a family member and your house sitter (in case of an emergency).
- Pick up your wedding bands.
- Obtain the marriage license.
- Arrange for pick up of guests and attendants arriving at airports.
Two Days Before Wedding- Make sure everyone arriving from out-of-town is met by someone, knows where everyone else is staying, etc.
- Pack an "emergency kit" containing things like spare panty hose, sewing supplies, aspirin, etc. to take with you to the wedding.
- Attend the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner. You may choose to give gifts to attendants and each other at this event or at a more private moment.
- Do something to relax and enjoy the company of your out-of-town friends.
- Assign responsibilities to your wedding party, such as handing out corsages and boutonnieres, greeting and seating guests, checking on vendors, etc.
- Confirm your wedding day transportation.
- Visit your Beauty Salon for a manicure and pedicure.
- Make sure the ushers have the final guest list.
Your Wedding Day!- Give gifts to your parents.
- Make sure you eat something.
- Visit your beauty salon for hairstyling and makeup. Bring your veil and headpiece.
- Make sure your wedding dress is pressed and steamed.
- Bring your written vows or poems to be presented.
- Pack relevant items such as wedding dress, veil and headpiece, shoes, gloves, jewelry, makeup, perfume, nail polish, curling iron, curlers, brush, hairspray, bobby pins, mirror, toothbrush, toothpaste, iron or steamer, garter, ring pillow, going-away outfit and shoes, undergarments, wedding night bag and honeymoon suitcases.
